Bonnie has been involved as an expert in the real estate industry for over 25 years, with global experience in leasing, sales/acquisitions and development through work in consulting, law and architecture: 

From 1989 – 2007, Bonnie served as head of the real estate group at McKinsey & Company, and for 14 years as a partner in the firm. In that capacity, Bonnie was involved in strategy and planning for the firm and clients globally. She:

  • Developed an occupancy strategy for McKinsey’s portfolio, and methods to reduce cost by more than $50 million annually, establishing performance metrics for property evaluation
  • Facilitated McKinsey’s growth from 40 to more than 100 locations in 45 countries globally, including leadership of negotiations for leasing, ownership and construction of office buildings worldwide, and related supervision of design projects
  • Served real estate clients on strategy and organization issues, including development issues
  • Led engagements involving portfolio optimization for large financial institutions, professional services firms, pharmaceuticals and industrial companies involving cost savings, sourcing and management
  • Worked for nonprofits on real estate structuring, transaction processes and architectural issues.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Bonnie practiced law at Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrision in their respective real estate departments, representing clients on sales and acquisitions, leases, construction, architect agreements, joint ventures, urban renewal projects, and financings.

Bonnie has a JD from Columbia Law School, an MLA in landscape architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, and a BA in architecture and landscape architecture from University of Pennsylvania.

She has published and spoken in the real estate field, including in the McKinsey Quarterly and for the Practising Law Institute, where Bonnie has been a regular lecturer. She is also a member of the Duke Law School Board of Visitors and University of Pennsylvania School of Design Board of Overseers.
